Core Subjects Tutor (GCSE Level, MK18 Area)
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Prospero Teaching is seeking a committed and qualified Core Subjects Tutor to deliver bespoke 1:1 education packages to young people in the MK18 area who are currently not attending school.
This Outreach Tutor role is perfect for an experienced educator confident in teaching Maths, English, and Science up to GCSE level. It offers the chance to move away from the traditional classroom and provide personalised, impactful lessons. You ll work with pupils who may have SEN and SEMH needs and require tailored support to re-engage with learning.
Responsibilities- Create, plan and deliver 1:1 lessons tailored to each pupil s academic and emotional needs
- Bridge gaps in learning and boost engagement, confidence, and attainment
- Support pupils in developing routine, motivation, and self-belief
- Use adaptive teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles
Many pupils have been out of education for some time, so building rapport and trust is essential. Prospero Teaching will support you throughout, monitoring progress and ensuring effective learning outcomes.
Contract/Position Details- Location - MK18 and surrounding areas
- Position - Outreach Tutor (Core Subjects - GCSE Level)
- Type of work - Contract
- Start date - ASAP
- Duration - Dependent on each student
- Contract type - Temporary
- Full time/part time - Flexible (10-15 hours/week)
- Rate of pay - £25 per hour
- Hours - 1 to 3 hours per session
- Availability - Daytime required
- QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent (essential)
- Minimum 6 months experience in a UK school or educational setting
- Experience supporting SEN and SEMH pupils (essential)
- Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable)
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the update service or be willing to apply
- Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years
