ABOUT EL FAMOSO

El Famoso builds and runs product and e-commerce programs for artists, record labels, streetwear and apparel brands, and other consumer brands. From our Austin-area operation, we take products from design and development through in-house production to online stores, retail shelves, and tour stops. Our e-commerce managers run the stores, our warehouse teams handle fulfillment, and our on-site customer service team takes care of the people buying the products.

We work with a growing portfolio of brands across music, entertainment, and apparel, and we're growing with them: in September we moved into a new 80,000 sq ft facility in Mustang Ridge, just outside Austin, and we ship hundreds of thousands of orders to people around the world.

ABOUT THE ROLE

When an artist or brand drops a new collection, fans expect it at their door fast. You'll run the pick, pack, bulk, and ship operation that makes that happen, from everyday orders to launch days that can reach 10,000 orders to holiday peak. You'll lead the fulfillment team, including leads and seasonal staff during peak, and you'll own the plan, the team, and the results, with room to build the systems that make each peak easier than the last.

You'll work directly with the people developing the product, planning the launches, and supporting customers. Those relationships help you plan for upcoming work, align priorities, and improve the handoffs your team depends on.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

• On-time shipping. Own parcel service, accuracy, and labor performance, including street dates and launch commitments.

• Capacity planning. Turn order forecasts, launch dates, order mix, inventory readiness, and carrier cutoffs into daily and forward plans. Know your labor and equipment needs before you commit.

• Labor. Staff picking, packing, bulk, and shipping using realistic production rates, including seasonal and temporary workers. Adjust quickly when attendance or volume changes.

• Exceptions. Keep held orders, shortages, and mispicks moving to resolution, with owners and deadlines agreed with Receiving & Inventory and the e-commerce and customer service teams.

• Peak readiness. Have staffing, training, workstations, supplies, and equipment in place before launches and holiday peak. Raise capacity risks early with costs and a recommended response.

• Carrier handoff. Lead packing accuracy, staging, and dispatch. Put agreed carrier and service changes from Logistics & Transportation into practice, and cut avoidable shipping charges through accurate execution.

• Your team. Hire, coach, and develop capable leads and backup coverage so the floor runs without heroics.

• Your numbers. Set targets with the COO, keep a scorecard people trust, and track cost per order by work type within an approved labor budget.

• Better tools. Improve layouts, workflows, and the in-house floor tools we build, and make sure the gains stick.

WHAT YOU BRING

• At least four years in direct-to-consumer e-commerce fulfillment, including two years directly managing people.

• Direct accountability for parcel service, quality, and labor results, with specific examples of removing bottlenecks and making improvements last.

• Experience turning unpredictable volume into staffing and capacity plans, including launches or seasonal peaks and temporary labor.

• Comfortable working from data. You can model labor needs and cost per order from WMS and productivity data, and explain the tradeoffs behind your recommendations.

• A record of developing leads and holding a team to clear standards.

• At least one improvement you personally took from idea to everyday use, such as a tool, automation, or AI-assisted workflow, with results you can show.
