Job Description- Follow all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Perform cleanup duties.
- Perform material handling and storage duties.
- Identify, use, and care for common hand and power tools.
- Use and care of craft-specific tools and equipment.
- Knowledge and application of craft-related mathematics.
- Knowledge and use of safety standards and best practices relevant to rigging, inspection of rigging equipment and hardware.
- Knowledge and application of common hitches, emergency stop signals, basic crane hand signals, knot tying (bowline & clove hitch), and use of rigging equipment relevant to craft-specific tasks.
- General construction craft laborer; heavy civil/highway experience is preferred.
- Assist in supporting functions within heavy highway construction, including MOT, concrete paving, batch plant operation, truck washout, etc.
- Assist all crafts with material preparation, dismantling equipment, distributing potable water, cleaning, measuring, sweeping, and other duties as assigned.
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Work at varying heights and recognize safety hazards.
- Operate equipment and power tools.
- Lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
- Work in extreme temperatures, noisy environments, wet/humid conditions, and cramped quarters.
- Climb ladders and scaffolding, kneel, reach, and demonstrate manual dexterity.
- Work in extreme heat or cold, noisy environments, and outdoors.
