This individual will help maintain compliance, support daily quality operations, conduct GMP audits, review documentation, and assist with post-audit corrective actions.

This position is expected to last approximately 2-3 months, although the duration may be extended based on business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day food safety and quality assurance support within the production environment.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for QA Technicians before issues are elevated to the Quality Manager.
  • Review, verify, and sign off on quality documentation, including PCQI-related records and food safety documentation.
  • Conduct GMP audits and identify compliance gaps, deficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Support food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Assist with investigations and resolution of:
    • GMP deviations
    • Product holds
    • Foreign material incidents

    • Documentation concerns
    • Food safety deviations
  • Partner with Operations and Quality teams to ensure compliance with company policies and food safety programs.
  • Support SQF audit preparation activities and provide on-the-floor support during the audit.
  • Assist with corrective actions, audit findings, and follow-up activities after the audit has been completed.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to QA Technicians while maintaining strong floor presence and visibility.
Essential Skills
  • Strong background in Food Safety and Quality Assurance within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience reviewing and approving quality documentation.
  • Demonstrated GMP audit experience.
  • Knowledge of food safety systems, compliance programs, and quality management processes.
  • Ability to identify risks, investigate quality concerns, and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or guiding QA teams in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field preferred; relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of education.
