Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a Long-term Contract position based in Illinois. This opportunity is well suited for an entry- to mid-level candidate who enjoys working across payables, reconciliations, and general bookkeeping activities in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate brings practical accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Manage invoice processing, payment tracking, and other accounts payable activities to help ensure timely and accurate disbursements.
• Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain reliable financial records.
• Review and process employee expense submissions in accordance with company policies and documentation standards.
• Administer corporate card payment workflows, including verification, coding, and reconciliation of transactions.
• Prepare journal entries and support general ledger maintenance to keep accounting records current and organized.
• Assist with routine bookkeeping tasks and month-end close support as needed by the accounting team.
• Work within accounting platforms such as Epicor, Net Suite, Quick Books, or comparable systems to complete daily financial processes.
• Contribute to tax-related accounting support, including assistance with corporate tax return documentation when required.
