Overview
On-Demand:
Guest Advocate (Cashier), General Merchandise, Fulfillment, Food and Beverage, Style (T0861). Starting hourly rate: $17.25 USD per hour.
As an On-Demand Team Member (TM), you can work as much or as little as you like. Your schedule may vary based on shift availability and store needs. You will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but can create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or team members via the myTime mobile scheduling app. Attendance and responsiveness to contact attempts are essential for success in this role.
If you are offered a position, you will attend a Target Welcome orientation and participate in a short-term structured training schedule before you begin using the myTime app to pick shifts.

Guest Advocates welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. They are knowledgeable about store capabilities and features that drive adoption and guest loyalty, and enable quick and easy shopping at checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while maintaining high quality.
What We Are Looking For:
You should enjoy interacting with others, thrive in a fast-paced environment, be flexible with hours, and be open to varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Training is provided, and you should have the willingness to learn and engage with guests about products and services.
- Demonstrate a service culture and deliver the service standard to guests.
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests and assisting with daily tasks.
- Engage with guests to solve their needs and use knowledge of tools, products and services to improve the guest experience.
- Understand and explain Target Wallet, the Target App, and fulfillment services; assist with enrollment or activation as needed.
- Handle returns following policies, and escalate with leaders when needed to resolve guest issues.
- Deliver accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests; maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Stock supplies during store hours and be available for guests; comply with safety policies and training.
- Support guest services and cash office processes as needed; ensure compliance with applicable laws (including adult beverage policies where relevant).
- Perform other duties based on business needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively and engage with guests and team members.
- Ability to stay composed in a fast-paced environment and multitask with attention to detail.
- Willingness to educate guests about products and services and to use handheld scanners and other technology.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team; flexible with hours and shifts.
- Ability to handle cash operations and support cash office processes as needed.
- Physical ability to lift up to 44 pounds occasionally and work in varying temperatures for certain duties.
