A growing public accounting firm in Buffalo is looking for an experienced Senior Tax Manager or Tax Director to join its tax leadership team.
This is a broad general tax opportunity rather than a narrowly specialized position. You’ll work across a varied client base, taking ownership of complex tax engagements, reviewing returns, advising clients and developing more junior members of the team.
The opportunity- Manage and review a portfolio of tax engagements
- Work across individual, partnership, S Corporation and C Corporation taxation
- Review complex federal and state tax returns
- Provide tax planning and year-round advisory support
- Act as a senior point of contact for key clients
- Manage deadlines, workflow and engagement delivery
- Review and develop work completed by Seniors and Staff
- Mentor and support junior members of the tax team
- Work closely with Partners on complex client matters
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships
- Contribute to the continued development of the firm's tax practice
- Strong experience within a CPA / public accounting firm
- Broad general tax background
- Experience reviewing 1040, 1065, 1120-S and 1120 returns
- Comfortable managing multiple client relationships and engagements
- Strong tax planning and advisory capability
- Previous staff management, mentoring or review experience
- CPA or EA preferred
, although candidates actively working toward the CPA or EA will also be considered - Comfortable operating at Senior Tax Manager or Tax Director level
