Senior Accounting Clerk

Description

Robert Half Permanent Placement is excited to partner with a national Commercial Property Improvement company based in the Buffalo, NY area on their search for a Senior Accounting Clerk to join their team. In this role, you will support a small accounting group with a mix of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, cash applications, and general clerical accounting responsibilities. This is a fully in-office position offering a base salary of $75,000 - $80,000, a substantial bonus structure, and a comprehensive benefits program that is highlighted by 100% company paid health benefits for individual or family.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

+ Process invoices and support day-to-day accounts payable activities

+ Apply cash and assist with accounts receivable processing

+ Perform book balancing and help maintain accurate financial records

+ Review freight bills and raw materials invoices for accuracy

+ Assist with collections and follow up on outstanding receivables

+ Serve as a liaison with purchasing and support communication across departments

+ Research discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and help resolve billing and accounting problems

+ Provide broader clerical accounting support to the team as needed

Requirements

+ Experience in accounts payable processing is required

+ Some accounts receivable and cash applications experience is preferred

+ Prior experience in a heavier clerical accounting or accounting support role

+ Ability to work independently and take initiative

+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

+ Comfort working collaboratively as part of a small team

+ Ability to understand business operations, including billing related to raw materials and freight

+ Accounting degree is not required
