Essex Homes is a leading residential semi‑custom home builder based in western New York. We specialize in delivering high quality, thoughtfully designed homes with an emphasis on craftsmanship, customer service and efficiency. We are looking for a seasoned Senior Estimator to join our dedicated team.

$75,000.00/yr – $95,000.00/yr

The Senior Estimator will play a key role in the pre‑construction process, preparing accurate cost estimates for residential semi‑custom homes. This individual will work closely with our design, sales and construction teams using Buildertrend software to manage estimates and streamline workflows.

• Develop detailed cost estimates for semi‑custom residential home projects based on architectural plans, specifications, and design options.
• Collaborate with the design and sales team to ensure accurate pricing and timely delivery of proposals.
• Review and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
• Maintain and update cost databases within Buildertrend to reflect current market pricing and vendor rates.
• Identify and evaluate cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality or design integrity.
• Provide support for budgeting, change‑order pricing and contract negotiations.
• Continue to build out the Buildertrend software package to improve internal efficiencies.

• 5 or more years of residential estimating experience in custom or semi‑custom homebuilding.
• Proficiency in Buildertrend or similar construction software applications and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction materials, methods, and market pricing.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Possess the ability and the desire to take on the additional responsibility of managing a small estimating team.
