Parking and Transportation Services is seeking a customer-focused Parking Services Attendant to be a welcoming and knowledgeable presence on campus while supporting safe, accessible and orderly parking throughout the University at Buffalo campuses. This position will primarily serve the UB South Campus and will provide a combination of customer service, parking guidance and enforcement.
The standard work schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a rotating assignment in the Parking Booth, which has a 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. shift, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities- Serves as a front-line parking information ambassador, providing courteous, accurate and helpful customer service to students, faculty, staff and visitors.
- Provides directions, parking information and assistance to help customers navigate the campus parking.
- Provides assignments at the Fronczak Information & Visitor Booth, an important first point of contact for prospective UB students and their families visiting campus for tours.
- Provides coverage at information booths and parking office, issuing parking access passes and collecting fees, when applicable, from faculty, staff, students and visitors.
- Completes daily accounting closeout procedures and accurately records deposit totals in accordance with department guidelines.
- Enforces parking rules and regulations throughout the campuses by identifying violations and issuing parking citations in accordance with University parking regulations.
- Assists motorists in need of support by performing services outlined within the Motorist Assistance Program.
- Utilizes University fleet vehicles to patrol campus and travel between campuses as needed.
- Patrols campus parking areas by vehicle, monitoring general parking lot conditions and space availability.
- Tracks space availability within assigned zones throughout the day and reports issues or concerns to department leadership.

Minimum QualificationsThere are no education or experience requirements, however, applicants must be able to read, speak and understand English, and must possess a valid New York State driver license.
Preferred QualificationsGeneral technology skills (email, smart phone, Microsoft apps);
Strong interpersonal communication skills;
Cash transaction and closeout experience.

Driving RequirementsA Class D driver’s license is a required minimum qualification for this position. Employees must operate university owned vehicles for business purposes and be enrolled in the LENS program to verify license validity.
