Senior Computer Aided Design Designer - Architecture

My client is seeking a Senior Architectural CAD Drafter who can take field measurements, photographs, existing pieces, sketches, and design concepts and turn them into detailed drawings and 3D models. Your work supports both architectural projects and the models and molds used to manufacture the finished pieces.

• Work on distinctive new architectural projects and historic restorations — the kind of buildings people stop to look at
• Watch your drawings leave the screen and become real architectural elements
• Solve real-world problems like no original drawings, an odd field condition, or a profile that has to be rebuilt from a broken piece
• Work shoulder-to-shoulder with architects, engineers, project managers, and skilled craftspeople who care about getting it right
• Salary: $65,000–$80,000; robust benefit package

• Create detailed architectural and production drawings in Rhino3D, AutoCAD, and other CAD tools.
• Build new drawings from field measurements, photographs, sketches, existing pieces, 3D scans, and specifications.
• Reverse engineer existing architectural details when the original drawings are missing.
• Create and modify the 3D models and drawings used in manufacturing.
• Translate design intent into details that can actually be manufactured.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, materials, and constructability before anything hits the shop floor.

• You have experience drafting complex architectural detail at a senior level, with minimal hand-holding.
• You can look at a physical object or a field condition and see the model.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and ANSI/ISO standards.
• Solid grounding in architectural design and building materials — you understand how an exterior assembly actually goes together on a commercial building
