Academic Scholar – Clinical Geneticist
Department of Pediatrics, University at Buffalo (UB), Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and Oishei Children’s Hospital is recruiting for an Academic Scholar – Clinical Geneticist
. We seek a candidate with experience in general genetics, dysmorphology, and metabolism, who is eager to help grow and support our regional genetics program.
The Division of Genetics runs a busy outpatient clinic and supports pediatric inpatient units, Maternal Fetal Medicine Center, Great Lakes Cancer Care, and several multidisciplinary clinics at Oishei Children’s Hospital (OCH). It is also the primary training site for a newly approved genetics counseling master’s program. The Division includes one board‑certified medical doctor and six genetic counselors.
Duties & Responsibilities- Provide inpatient consultation for children admitted to OCH and outpatient care in the pediatric multispecialty clinic in collaboration with genetic counselors.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage children with genetic conditions in a family‑centered environment.
- Balance clinical care, teaching, and/or bench research with protected research time opportunities.
Oishei Children’s Hospital and the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences are located on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus (BNMC), a consortium of the region’s premier health care, life sciences research, and medical education institutes.
