Sarcoma Oncology, Assistant to Full Professor

The Department of Medicine at Roswell Park is seeking an Assistant to Full Professor of Sarcoma Oncology. The primary clinical activities involve attending in an outpatient sarcoma clinic with inpatient responsibilities with an experienced team of advanced practice providers. Candidates will join a multidisciplinary and skilled team with sarcoma surgery, sarcoma radiation oncologists, sarcoma pathologists and radiologists. There is additional opportunity for sarcoma leadership, guidance of sarcoma early phase clinical trials, and clinical research.

Under the leadership of the new Chair of the Department of Medicine, Renier Brentjens, MD, PhD, candidates will have the opportunity to develop robust clinical, translational, and basic science research programs in a collaborative, state-of-the-art academic environment with close interaction with outstanding clinical, basic science and population science departments at the Center.

The successful candidate will coordinate patient care plans for sarcoma patients requiring both SOC and protocol driven therapeutic interventions. The candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in the teaching and training of Hematology and Oncology fellows, residents, and medical students and additional mentorship.

• Attend outpatient sarcoma clinic with inpatient responsibilities, collaborating with an experienced team of advanced practice providers.
• Coordinate patient care plans for sarcoma patients requiring SOC and protocol-driven therapeutic interventions.
• Participate in teaching and training of hematology and oncology fellows, residents, medical students, and provide mentorship.
• Engage in leadership opportunities in sarcoma and contribute to early-phase clinical trials and clinical research initiatives (as appropriate).

Required

Education and Experience:

Candidates must be board certified in Internal Medicine and board certified or eligible in Medical Oncology and be able to meet licensure requirements in New York State. Exceptional foreign medical graduates will be considered.

Note: Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
