Role Description

This is a full-time, certified Visual Art Teacher position based on-site in Buffalo, NY. The art teacher will be responsible for designing and delivering art instruction in alignment with the District art curriculum while fostering creativity and skill development in students. Daily responsibilities include planning engaging lessons, evaluating and documenting student progress, and managing classroom environment effectively. The role also entails inspiring students to learn about diverse art and artists and create various forms of visual art while maintaining a positive learning environment.

• Design and deliver art instruction aligned with the District art curriculum.

• Strong skills in visual art practices, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and other artistic mediums.
• Ability to design and implement creative and effective lessons based on the district curriculum.
• Proficiency in classroom management, student engagement, and age-appropriate teaching techniques.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, parents, and school staff.
• Familiarity with integrating technology into art education is a plus.
• Previous teaching experience, preferably within a school setting, is advantageous.
• A passion for fostering artistic growth and promoting diversity and inclusion within the classroom is expected.
• Certified teacher accreditation in Visual Arts is required.
