• Our school days run from 6:50 AM to 2:30 PM (one day a week until 4:00 PM for planning)

• We have a very competitive salary scale that pays the same or higher than most local districts. Our starting salary for a first‑year teacher with no prior experience is between $45,000 and goes up with years of prior experience if certified. If uncertified, salary starts at $40,000.
• REACH pays 80% of health, dental and vision coverage; the employee pays 20%.

• Prepare lesson plans that engage, stimulate and instruct students, including small‑group, center‑based instruction
• Instruct students based on the REACH curriculum and utilize available instructional technologies in the classroom
• Regularly evaluate student performance and monitor achievement of state standards
• Act as a role model by motivating students while maintaining an approachable personality
• Regularly communicate with parents and legal guardians regarding children’s performance, track and record student progress, and keep records up to date for progress reports and report‑card conferences
• Provide a classroom‑management plan ensuring safety at all times
• Execute daily lesson plans for all assigned blocks
• Implement all REACH routines and procedures with fidelity
• Submit lesson plans and unit plans in a timely manner
• Actively participate in all professional development and coaching sessions as well as weekly team planning
• Incorporate feedback from coaches in a timely manner
• Consistently analyze scholar data and engage in self‑reflection on practices
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School

Teachers must hold a NYS professional teaching certificate in their subject area or be eligible for reciprocity to include:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in subject area to be taught; master’s degree preferred
• Proven track‑record of high achievement in the classroom and commitment to accountability preferred
• Belief in and alignment with REACH Academy Charter School core beliefs and educational philosophy
• Valid New York State certification (exceptions only under the terms of policy and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations)
