SummaryD’Youville University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) in Buffalo, NY, invites applications for Faculty in Foundations of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. The position may include subject matters such as anatomy, microbiology, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and pathology. Faculty will instruct osteopathic medical students, comply with Division policies, partner with other faculties and Associate Deans, and engage in research, scholarly activities, and community service.
Job Responsibilities- Work with the Chair and Associate Deans to develop and finalize preclinical curricula for the first two years of medical school.
- Participate in and supervise course delivery, ensuring instructional excellence for osteopathic medical students.
- Engage in research and scholarly activities, encouraging and facilitating students’ participation.
- Mentor and advise students individually and in groups; continue instruction throughout the four-year curriculum as required.
- Support student improvement, prepare students for COMLEX exams, and build a strong foundational education.
- Assist in student assessment, evaluation, and remedial intervention for those who need it.
- Collaborate with faculties in other departments and research units across the university.
- Acquire, set up, and maintain all instructional materials needed in the department.
- Participate in COM committees to enhance academics as instructed by the Dean.
- Follow all safety and departmental protocols and stay current with training requirements.
- Act as a role model for students, faculty, the university, and the community.
- Provide service to the COM, the university, and the greater community.
- DO or MD; or PhD in biomedical sciences (e.g., anatomy, microbiology, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, pathology) or a related specialty with significant teaching experience.
- Minimum of 3 years experience teaching large and small-group settings to osteopathic or postgraduate students.
- Experience and comfort preparing and maintaining instructional materials.
- Experience teaching subject matters such as anatomy, microbiology, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and pathology.
- Experience with Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) / Osteopathic Principles & Practice (OPP) materials.
- Demonstrated research and scholarly activity; developing student research projects.
- Publications in notable scientific journals.
- Comfort teaching clinical aspects of select specialties in the first two years of medical school.

Pay: $90,000 - $100,000 Annually
