Montessori Assistant Teacher

Founded in 1912, The Park School of Buffalo is a college-preparatory day school serving 300 students in Prekindergarten through Grade 12 and Montessori. Through a rigorous and progressive curriculum, the School develops in students the habits of mind and essential skills that lead to success in college and life.

The Park School of Buffalo is seeking a certified Montessori Assistant Teacher who is committed to directing the children’s activities academically, emotionally, and physically in a prepared and peaceful Montessori environment that challenges each child to reach his/her fullest potential in the developmental areas, in accordance with Montessori Philosophy. The teacher shall set up and operate his/her environment and maintain the order and neatness characteristic of the Montessori environment.

The teacher shall possess collaborative communication standards with all Steinway and staff striving to become the most effective educator possible.

Qualities and qualifications for the position are:

• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the Montessori level
• Strong instructional and classroom management skills
• High level of personal organization and planning
• Substantial coursework in diversity, equity, and inclusion pedagogy
• Team player: maturity, humility, strong work ethic, follow‑through, sense of humor, willingness to respond positively to feedback and a “roll‑up‑my‑sleeves” attitude
• Mastery of and enthusiasm for subject matter

• Able to walk throughout the 34‑acre campus
• Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
