Base Pay Range$25.00/hr - $32.00/hr
Role OverviewThe Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining all safety protocols and procedures for the Company under the direction of the Safety Manager. This position partners with company leadership and work teams to ensure safe day‑to‑day operations in compliance with all federal, local, state, and industry standards.
Job Responsibilities- Develop and coordinate a training program designed to instruct employees in general safe work practices and specific instruction regarding hazards unique to job assignments.
- Perform scheduled periodic inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions and work practices, improve workplace operations, and control hazards.
- Investigate and reduce accidents and losses in compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
- Communicate, distribute, and enforce site‑specific safety procedures and federal, state, and local safety and health regulations.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of federal and state OSHA regulations and related websites; keep safety codes and regulations up‑to‑date and post new or revised standards that affect the company.
- Establish and document quarterly training programs for all employees and supervisors.
- Conduct and document new employee safety training and orientation.
- Conduct and document safety meetings with appropriate staff to cover all activities related to safety of employees, company vehicles, property, and public liability exposures.
- Provide safe and healthy working conditions and enforce safe practices at all times by all employees.
- Encourage employees and supervisors to report unsafe conditions immediately and schedule or coordinate repairs promptly.
- Encourage reporting of any injury that occurs on the job, even a slight cut or strain, immediately.
- Respond to employee suggestions concerning safety matters.
- Communicate loss prevention information and program status to management regularly and work through management to accomplish goals.
- Develop and maintain a proactive Return to Work Program; coordinate with appropriate staff and insurance representatives to identify and develop suitable temporary limited duty assignments for injured employees.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- Minimum of three to six years of related experience.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
- Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office.
- Prior experience with OSHA audits and preparing safety documentation.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.
- Forklift certified.
