Supplier Quality Engineer III
Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer III to ensure our outside processing (OSP) supply base consistently delivers high‑quality, defect‑free components that meet stringent aerospace standards. In this role, you’ll be a key partner throughout the supplier lifecycle—from initial qualification and onboarding to ongoing performance monitoring and continuous improvement.

- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement supplier quality standards, performance metrics, and improvement plans to ensure compliance with Moog and regulatory requirements.
- Manage root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to reduce defects and improve reliability using lean principles and tools.
- Collaborate with internal and external cross‑functional teams to resolve quality issues and support new product introductions.
- Support qualification of new suppliers and materials through rigorous testing and documentation.
- Review and approve supplier documentation (e.g., PPAP submissions, control plans, FMEAs).
- Maintain accurate records of quality activities and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
- Actively participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) concepts where applicable.
- 25% travel.
- Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline or a relevant degree with 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- At least 2 years of experience in Supplier Quality or Quality Assurance within aerospace or a similarly regulated industry.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and standards (AS9100 and related aerospace requirements).
- Experience using problem‑solving tools and methodologies to identify root cause and implement corrective/preventive actions (e.g., 8D, 5‑why).
- Experience utilizing industry standard quality tools and APQP methodologies (e.g., FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, MSA, SPC, Capability Analysis, Error Proofing).
- Experience conducting internal, supplier, or customer audits, including process audits where quality cannot be verified through inspection.
- Solid understanding of GD&T and inspection techniques.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) – preferred.
- Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab) – preferred.
- Knowledge of specific aerospace standards such as AS13000 series, AS9102, AS9145, AMS 2750, and special process specifications for NDT, anodize, etc. – preferred.
