• Work in a team environment to develop contract documents, including construction drawings and technical specifications
• Apply engineering principles pertaining to and in support of the detailed plans and construction documents for roadways and bridges under the guidance of senior engineers
• Actively mentor and provide guidance to less experienced staff
• Progress and evaluate design details for bridge and culvert projects
• Develop contract drawings using Micro Station and/or AutoCAD
• Construct models and perform calculations using various software and/or hand calculations
• Review and provide Quality Control (QC) for project engineering deliverables
• Interface with other technical disciplines
• Develop cost estimates for construction documents
• Attend project meetings and participate in project site visits when required

• BS Civil Engineering from an accredited university
• New York State Professional Engineer (PE) required or ability to obtain
• Master of Science with a concentration in structural/bridge engineering a plus
• 5 + years of meaningful experience related to bridge engineering design
• Shall be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn and grow professionally
• Prepare design criteria using relevant codes and standards
• Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office
• Preliminary and final design plan production experience
• Bridge load rating experience an additional benefit
• Experience with computer drafting and structural analysis software
• Familiarity with AASHTO and NYSDOT Standard Specifications
• Good writing and communication skills a plus
