Test Engineer-Ground Testing

Candidate would be a member of the CUBRC Aerosciences group involved with high-speed wind tunnel testing. Primary responsibilities include: supporting the development of a high enthalpy source and measurement capabilities. This could include, but is certainly not limited to, development and fielding of ground test hardware, development of measurement techniques and characterization of high enthalpy sources, and the execution of high-fidelity ground testing in support of the DoD and their contractors.

• B.S. in Engineering or Physics, or equivalent experience
• Strong foundation in heat transfer and high-speed aerodynamics
• Experience with the theory and operation of high enthalpy ground test sources.
• Experience with diagnostics for the characterization of high enthalpy ground test source flow fields
• Experience with the operation, collection, and troubleshooting of data acquisition systems in experimental lab settings
• Experience with CAD design, FEA analysis, and data analysis/reduction.
• Experience with high-speed data acquisition systems and Matlab or Python programming
• Candidate must be prepared to occasionally work extended hours.

Must be able to obtain and remain eligible for a US Department of Defense security clearance during the course of employment.
