OverviewOur Space Sector is looking for a Project Engineer to join the Actuation and Avionics Fast Works Team. In this position you will drive the execution of quick‑turn, technically complex actuation and avionics hardware programs. You will own design, build, test, and delivery activities across electronic and electromechanical domains, working collaboratively with other engineering functions, A&T, operations, supply chain, and maintaining direct customer interaction.
This is a hands‑on role that requires technical breadth, practical lab experience, and strong program ownership.

- Work on highly complex tasks across multiple projects, providing innovative solutions under minimal supervision and driving tasks to completion.
- Interact with internal and external customers, exhibiting company values and providing project leadership.
- Switch between different internal responsibilities including Assembly & Test, resource coordination, supplier communication, and strategic coordination across departments.
- Effectively train team members and present to internal and external audiences, delivering convincing documents and proposals.
- Drive efforts for design reviews, customer visits, and demonstrations; travel to customer sites as required.
- Support tasks that impact other teams, acting as a key resource across projects.
- Take initiative to learn new tools and technologies, demonstrating high technical competency.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of EE design experience or an MS with 3 years of experience.
- Ability to access U.S. export‑controlled information.
- Demonstrated understanding of electronics, design analysis, and production of complex electrical hardware and electromechanical systems.
- Comfortable working in a lab environment or at external test sites, familiar with test equipment and practices.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, managing competing priorities of multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with circuit analysis, board layout, and test equipment design.
- Ability to understand project needs and define steps to advance projects forward.
- Balanced focus on performance, cost, manufacturability, timing, supply chain, and resource availability.
- Familiarity with embedded systems/firmware, power electronics, or avionics standards
- Experience with PCB CAD tools, test automation (e.g., LabVIEW), or DFx practices
- Prior experience in rapid prototyping or fast‑paced development environments
- Onsite in East Aurora, New York.
- Travel approximately 10% to customer or supplier sites as required.
