Lead, Division IPT - Military Aircraft Group

Location:

Buffalo, NY.

Reporting To:
Manager, IPT Leads. This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information and the ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities necessary to lead and maintain an effective and cohesive team.
  • Demonstrate charisma, trust, and technical acumen for driving resolution of complex engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, programs, and customer challenges.
  • Support the full lifecycle of the platform, ensuring development programs are well‑positioned for deterministic execution and resolving production or field quality issues quickly.
  • Maintain accountability to the IPT Lead Manager for adherence to baselined plans (technical, scope, budget, schedule) and lead CEAC activities, variance explanations and Return‑to‑Green planning.
  • Ensure technical solutions and initiatives are fully integrated into functional and division business objectives, priorities, and technology roadmaps, aligning closely with division and site leadership.
  • Co‑ordinate with Functional Engineering, Product Engineering, the Office of Chief Engineers, and Business Unit/Program leadership to ensure NPI efforts are planned and executed successfully.
  • Deliver on the technical, scope, budget, and schedule commitments made to Moog’s Business Sector and its customers, applying earned value management and project management fundamentals.
  • Reduce potential product quality issues before they impact a customer, maintaining confidence in Moog as a critical partner.
  • Establish relationships with customers and Moog networks built on trust and competence.
  • Demonstrate effective systems thinking and the ability to balance technical performance, producibility, product quality, business considerations, and customer needs.
  • Provide technical perspective and guidance on business decisions with long‑term financial or strategic impact, influencing profitability.
  • Maintain awareness of customer and Moog technology roadmaps and align efforts to meet future customer needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Software, or Aerospace) plus 15 years of engineering experience including 5 years in development and production testing.
  • Proven history of effectively guiding cross‑functional teams through multiple stages of a development program, ensuring timely delivery and high‑quality outcomes.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
