Job description: Environmental Engineer – Brownfield Remediation

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are working with a well-established engineering and environmental consulting firm seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to join its growing team in Buffalo, NY.

This is an excellent opportunity for an environmental professional with experience in brownfield redevelopment, contaminated site investigation and environmental remediation to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across New York State.

You will be involved in the assessment, investigation and remediation of contaminated sites, supporting projects from initial environmental assessments through to remediation and site redevelopment.

• Managing and supporting brownfield investigation and remediation projects.
• Conducting and overseeing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
• Coordinating soil, groundwater and soil vapour investigations.
• Developing and implementing remedial action plans.
• Supporting site remediation, environmental monitoring and reporting.
• Preparing technical reports, proposals and regulatory submissions.
• Working with clients, contractors and regulatory agencies, including NYSDEC.
• Supporting projects under New York's Brownfield Cleanup Program.

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in environmental consulting and contaminated site remediation.
• Demonstrable experience working on brownfield projects.
• Knowledge of Phase I/II ESAs, site investigations and remedial action plans.
• Familiarity with NYSDEC regulations and New York's Brownfield Cleanup Program would be advantageous.
• Strong technical report writing and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
