Senior Recreation Therapist to provide therapeutic and rehabilitative recreation services to individuals with mental illness.

• Modify activities based on individuals’ physical activity and rehabilitative needs.
• Observe and record progress, responses, and behaviors.
• Maintain records and documentation in accordance with program standards.
• Design and administer individual and group programs.

• Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or a related field and 2 years of post‑degree professional experience in planning and administering a therapeutic program for populations such as geriatric, intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, or substance use disorders; or
• Master’s degree in the same field and 1 year of post‑degree experience; or
• Licensure/registration as a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) in New York State, or certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), an Art Therapist, a Dance/Movement Therapist, a Music Therapist, or a Registered Drama Therapist can substitute for one year of experience.

Base pay range: $63,361.00 – $80,655.00 per year.
