Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a growing behavioral health team. This role focuses on providing high-quality mental health care in a friendly, supportive office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient evaluations, including relevant medical history and health assessments based on presenting symptoms
- Identify patient needs and develop differential diagnoses using clinical findings
- Perform waived urine testing
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with a supervising physician
- Prescribe and manage pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions
- Provide patient education and appropriate referrals as needed
- Conduct systematic follow-ups and adjust treatment plans to achieve optimal mental health outcomes
- Facilitate patient access to appropriate mental health services using cost-effective care models
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant medical records
- Promote patient safety, advocacy, and quality care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Current and valid New York State Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
- Registered NP or PA in good standing
- Active DEA license
- Meets NY Department of Drug and Alcohol Program requirements to perform H&Ps and prescribe medications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Prior medical office experience preferred
- Five (5) years of related clinical experience
- Master's degree
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Knowledge of healthcare data management systems
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities
