Velo Cloud Network Engineer

Scope of the Position

Acuative is a global IT solutions provider committed to delivering top-tier managed services, solutions, and network infrastructure support. The Network Engineer will provide Tier III support, resolving tickets escalated from Tier I and II, working with external vendors and internal technical support to achieve timely issue resolution across locations in Strongsville, Ohio;
Fairfield, NJ; and Herndon, VA. The role requires independently troubleshooting network and security technologies, performing firmware upgrades, network changes, and customer network improvement recommendations.

• Troubleshoot and resolve customer network problems and security events swiftly, collaborating with other engineers as necessary.
• Work effectively with vendors and field service technicians to resolve issues, escalating to higher levels when required.
• Conduct Problem Management/Root Cause Analysis and Change Management activities.
• Design, configure, implement, and test network and security changes, including firewall, SD‑WAN, and policy updates.
• Perform forensic analysis of network and security events and review vendor software advisory notifications.
• Provide regular status updates to customers and management on issue resolution.
• Mentor lower‑level analysts and maintain process documentation.

• Communicate technical issues to customers.
• Triage and troubleshoot VOIP/Voice issues.
• Work evenings, weekends, and on an on‑call rotation as requested.
• Effectively liaise with peers and management at all levels.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Visio for network documentation.

• 3–5+ years of Network Operations experience.
• 3–5+ years of troubleshooting and experience with Velo Cloud solutions.
• Experience with VMware SD‑WAN Foundations and general SD‑WAN implementations.
• 5+ years of troubleshooting WAN/LAN/WLAN infrastructure issues (T1, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VPN, wireless, etc.).
• Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

• Knowledge of ITIL Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
• Experience with climbing or light physical work (up to 20 lbs).
• Close visual acuity for data analysis and software interaction.
