Job Description & How to Apply Below

CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Project Manager position for our client.

Location: Buffalo, NY (Hybrid Remote)
Duration: 9 months

Duties: The Senior Project Manager for the Computer-Assisted Coding (CAC) and Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Software Deployment Project is responsible for end-to-end planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of enterprise CAC/CDI implementations across inpatient, outpatient, and professional billing environments.

This role provides delivery governance, cross‑functional coordination, and execution discipline, ensuring scope, schedule, quality, and risk are actively managed across business, clinical, IT, QA, compliance, and vendor teams. The Project Manager ensures project execution remains requirements‑driven, testable, auditable, and operationally sustainable, rather than focused solely on technical go‑live milestones.

The role also ensures sustained commitment to documentation, reporting, and record keeping, enabling proactive status reporting and timely responses to ad‑hoc information requests.

Key responsibilities include:

Project Planning & Execution
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans with detailed work packages, tasks, dependencies, and milestones across business analysis, interface development, QA/testing, training, go‑live, stabilization, and core application configuration.
  • Establish and manage milestones, dependencies, critical paths, and deliverables across all CAC/CDI work streams.
  • Ensure alignment between project plans, resource availability, and organizational priorities.
Governance, Risk & Issue Management
  • Establish and maintain project governance structures, including status reporting, decision logs, risk and issue registers, and escalation pathways.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks related to scope, data readiness, workflow maturity, testing coverage, training readiness, and operational adoption.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for delivery risks impacting quality, compliance, or revenue cycle performance.
Requirements, QA & Testing Alignment
  • Partner with Business Analysts to ensure clear, approved, and testable requirements aligned to current- and future‑state workflows.
  • Ensure QA activities are planned, resourced, and executed in alignment with the testing strategy, including integration testing, interface testing, UAT, and regression testing.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
  • Coordinate activities across operational stakeholders (Coding, CDI, HIM, Compliance, Billing, Operations, Clinical Leadership), QA teams, interface developers, business systems analysts, trainers, and vendors.
  • Audit project artifacts to ensure requirements, workflows, and testing outputs are fit for purpose.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the primary coordination point with CAC/CDI vendors to ensure deliverables align with contractual scope, timelines, and dependencies.
  • Communicate effectively with executive sponsors, clinical leaders, operational managers, and IT leadership regarding status, risks, and decisions.
Go‑Live & Stabilization Oversight
  • Coordinate go‑live readiness activities, including training completion, data validation, cutover planning, and support coverage.
  • Lead post‑go‑live stabilization, including issue triage, separation of training issues versus system defects, and transition to steady‑state operations.
Skills:
  • Advanced project planning and delivery governance skills
  • Strong risk, issue, and dependency management capabilities
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and vendor management skills
  • Deep understanding of QA, testing, and requirements traceability
  • Ability to manage complex, highly integrated healthcare IT initiatives
Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience managing healthcare IT or revenue cycle‑related projects, including enterprise‑scale implementations
  • Direct experience implementing Computer‑Assisted Coding (CAC) and Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) tools
  • Experience managing projects involving EHRs, LIS, RIS, OIS, and revenue cycle systems (registration, scheduling, charging, coding, billing)
  • Experience leading projects with extensive HL7 and EDI‑based integrations
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Healthcare…
