Location: Buffalo, NY (Hybrid 3 days onsite per week)
Duration: Initial 3-month contract with potential for extension or permanent conversion
Tier4 Group is seeking a Senior Power BI Analyst to partner directly with business stakeholders, particularly within Finance, to improve reporting efficiency, replace manual spreadsheet processes with interactive dashboards, and translate business needs into actionable insights.
This is a business-facing role focused on approximately 80% analysis and stakeholder collaboration and 20% report development
. The ideal candidate enjoys solving business problems, gathering requirements, and delivering reporting solutions that improve visibility and decision-making.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and gather requirements.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
- Use Power Query (M) to transform and prepare data.
- Query existing Microsoft Fabric data views to develop reporting solutions.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting and improve efficiency.
- Validate data accuracy and troubleshoot reporting issues.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure reporting solutions meet business needs.
- Strong hands-on Power BI development and reporting experience.
- Experience with Power Query (M).
- Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into effective reporting solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working with existing datasets and data models.
- Ability to work onsite in Buffalo three days per week.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with data warehousing and enterprise reporting environments.
- Experience supporting Finance or other business functions.
You are a business-focused BI professional who enjoys working directly with stakeholders, understanding reporting challenges, and building dashboards that make a measurable difference.
Power BI expertise, Power Query, and stakeholder communication are the priorities. Advanced DAX, data pipeline development, and deep data engineering experience are not required.
