A WNY healthcare organization has a need for a Temporary Purchasing manager to coordinate daily purchasing activities, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant processing of purchases, invoices, vendors, and related requests. The position provides process guidance to the Purchasing Specialist, collaborates with agency departments and vendors, and escalates issues to the Director of Purchasing or leadership as needed. This role has no formal supervisory responsibility.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate purchase requests, invoices, vendor communications, and urgent/emergency purchases
- Advise staff on purchasing policies, procedures, approvals, vendors, and compliance requirements
- Provide guidance to the Purchasing Specialist and coordinate purchasing activities
- Review purchasing documentation and invoices for accuracy, approvals, funding, and compliance
- Coordinate with vendors, Finance, Facilities, and departments to resolve purchasing and operational issues
- Obtain vendor quotes and coordinate grant-funded and time-sensitive purchases
- Maintain purchasing accounts and user access and process help desk requests
- Identify and customize financial, contractual, compliance, or operational issues
- Assist with Purchasing Department procedures and Standard Operating Procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
