Duration: 12+ Months with possible extension as per client business needs
Client: GENERAL MOTORS
Pay range: $48–$54/hour on W2
Work Schedule: Onsite - Monday and Friday.

- 1st Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Overtime available (10+ hrs/week); expect up to 50 hrs/week
The Controls Engineer will design, troubleshoot, and support control systems in a high-volume engine assembly manufacturing environment. This is a hands‑on role
, spending 80–90% of time on the factory floor
, supporting production, maintenance, and new equipment installations.
- Design pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical diagrams
- Develop PLC and HMI software
- Debug, test, and support system startups
- Support installation of tools and new equipment
- Provide technical support and training to plant personnel
- Travel up to 20% as needed (approx. 6 times/year, Michigan)
- Associate’s degree required (Bachelor’s preferred – Electrical Engineering ideal)
- 5–7 years of controls or manufacturing experience (less considered for strong candidates)
- Strong experience on a manufacturing plant floor
- Ability to troubleshoot under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
- Robotics:
Fanuc robots/cobots - Vision systems:
Cognex, Dalsa, Matrox - AutoCAD
- Familiarity with electrical and safety standards
- Automated material handling (AMRs, auto fork trucks – preferred)
- One onsite interview (1.5 hours)
- Behavioral + technical combined
- Candidates must be willing to attend onsite interview at their own expense
