Overview
GTI Fabrication specializes in the design, engineering, fabrication, and deployment of custom modular structures, shipping container-based structures, and ballistic metal fabrication. We serve multiple industries, including DOD contractors, military, disaster relief, and commercial markets. Our containerized and modular solutions are built in-house at our factory in Buffalo, NY. Manufacturing capabilities range from military training, live fire enclosures, bathroom/shower units, expeditionary camps, medical facilities, water treatment, electrical/energy storage enclosures, and more.
The GTI team consists of professionals spanning fabrication, engineering, government and military specialists. Our combination of expertise allows us to provide top quality solutions and customer service for various industries and missions.
Base pay range$20.00/hr - $28.00/hr
Position details- Job title:
Quality Technician - Shift: 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, 3:30pm–12:00am
- Employment type:
Full-time (permanent)
- Develop and maintain inspection reports.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, as well as company standards and specifications.
- Maintain calibration of quality control equipment.
- Perform inspections across all stages of production.
- Prepare and maintain test data for review.
- Evaluate data and draft reports, noting deviations from existing standards.
- Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly.
- Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency.
- Other duties as assigned by the QA Manager.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Solid understanding of measuring, inspection, and test equipment.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of inspection and/or production experience in the metals fabrication industry.
- Visual weld and welding inspection experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel.
- Strong working knowledge of fractions, ratios, and proportions.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus (20/20 vision, corrected or uncorrected).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and fabrication drawings.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
