Leader, Performance

• Work from blueprints, operation sheets, or verbal instructions.
• Grind a wide variety of complex parts—including intricate recessing, grooving, and tapers—with tight tolerances and high finishes.
• Perform set‑ups: chucking, aligning irregularly shaped parts, and selecting proper wheels, speeds, feeds, and operating sequences.
• Dress grinding wheels for form, taper, steps, straight, and unusual forms.
• Inspect all work with sine bars, air gages, DITA, V‑blocks, profilometers, angle plates, and electronic gauging equipment.
• Participate in cell planning and problem solving within the cell.

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience as a grind machinist.
• Comfortable setting up and troubleshooting CNC machines.
• Proficiency with measuring equipment: micrometers, calipers, and dial bore gauges.
• Competence reading and interpreting blueprints and written work instructions.
• Ability to select grinding wheels, dress wheels, and run production parts according to drawing requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to hold tight tolerances—typically .001 +/- .0005—associated with precision part machining (GD&T).
• Compliance with FAA Safety Sensitive Work regulations and participation in the FAA Drug & Alcohol Program.
