Postdoctoral Associate, Ophthalmology – University at Buffalo
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to join Dr. Sangita Patel’s lab in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University at Buffalo, located at the Buffalo VA Medical Center. Dr. Patel’s lab studies the physiology of the corneal endothelium, the cell layer that maintains transparency of the cornea. Current projects are focused on studies of the extracellular matrix of the corneal endothelium and responses to cell injury.
The Postdoctoral Associate is expected to be able to move projects from the idea phase to the bench, including interpretation and presentation of findings.
- Establishing new protocols for new research ideas
- Performing and troubleshooting experimental protocols
- Analyzing and interpreting data and preparing for presentation/publications
- Human and cow eye dissections
- General laboratory maintenance/upkeep activities
