Overview
The Experimental High Energy Physics group at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York (UB) invites applications for two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions to work on the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Candidates should have a strong record or interest in data analysis, experimental operations, and/or hardware development. The successful applicant will work in a collaborative environment, communicate scientific results, and develop an independent research program.
The postdoctoral researcher is required to have completed a Ph.D. in experimental particle physics, nuclear physics, or a related field by the time of appointment. The position may be based at CERN or Fermilab.
- Conduct research in high energy particle physics with the CMS experiment at CERN.
- Contribute to detector operations, upgrades, and/or R&D for future colliders.
- Write scientific papers and present results at conferences and workshops.
- Provide mentorship to students.
