Employee Cafeteria, Kitchen Worker role at Seneca Gaming Corporation.

The Kitchen Worker is responsible for all operations for their specific area, including preparing tableware for washing, collecting soiled pots, washing and restacking cleaned pots, removing garbage and refuse for recycling, mopping and sweeping floors, maintaining and distributing company assets, setting up the dishwashing machine, and stacking and storing clean dishes in proper kitchen areas. They must monitor and ensure quality and efficiency of service at assigned areas, and perform duties within Seneca Gaming Corporation policies, internal control standards and objectives.

• Maintain clean and organized kitchen areas; handle tasks appropriately and notify the Supervisor of any problems; use proper cleaning chemicals for the task.
• Use daily kitchen area checklist.
• Prepare tableware for washing (scraping plates, presoaking silverware, placing items in dishwasher racks); set up dishwashing machine; ensure drains are closed, tanks are filled, temperatures are correct, and detergent is at proper levels; wash and rinse dishes and kitchen equipment; dry and restack items; clean and sanitize equipment and areas; follow regulatory, departmental and company policies; maintain neat appearance and uphold standards.
• Detail clean kitchen and peripheral equipment (ovens, fryers, hot boxes, coolers, etc.).
• Maintain understanding of information security policies including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy and comply with all information security procedures.
• Provide exceptional customer service in a professional manner; maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.
• Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
• Complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from employment commencement.
• Attend necessary meetings. Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations may change; hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.

• Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service preferred.

• Must possess good communication skills including the ability to read, write and speak effectively to employees and customers.
• Understand and comply with policies and procedures, daily memos, chemical labels and other instructions.

• The physical demands and work environment described are representative of those required to perform the essential functions; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
• Noise level can be moderately loud to loud on casino floor; smoking may be permitted in some environments.
• Must be able to stand, walk and move for extended periods and handle objects up to 50 pounds; moderate exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke and loud noises; basic safety precautions apply.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Seneca Nation license.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English; respond to visual and aural cues.
• Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
• Employment is contingent upon a favorable background investigation and drug screening.
