Donation Processor & Receiver (Full-Time)

Pay: $16.50/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday

Location: Buffalo, NY at our Warehouse

About the Role

Hearts Thrift Stores is looking for a Donation Processor and Receiver (DPR) to support the daily flow of donated goods from our donors to the sales floor. This role is essential to keeping our stores running efficiently while creating a positive and respectful experience for every donor.

What You’ll Do
  • Receive, sort, and price donated items for retail sale
  • Greet and assist donors in a friendly, professional manner
  • Help unload donations and issue donation receipts
  • Share the Hearts Thrift Stores mission and thank donors for their support
  • Screen donations and follow company guidelines for accepted and prohibited items
  • Identify quality merchandise and work with management on pricing when needed
  • Tag and stage merchandise for the retail team
  • Track and report daily production numbers and communicate any challenges
  • Keep donation, processing, and staging areas clean and organized
  • Assist with inventory needs and supply restocking
  • Provide clear direction when working with volunteers
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and code of conduct
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Reliable and punctual with consistent attendance
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Retail or sales experience preferred
  • Experience working with volunteers is a plus
  • Basic computer skills (POS systems, email, Google Docs, Microsoft Word)
