We are seeking a Crane Operator to join our team.
Job summary:The Crane Operator is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient operation of crane equipment to load, unload, and place trusses, lumber, and building materials at our yard and on customer job sites. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely deliveries, jobsite safety, and protecting materials, equipment, and personnel.
Responsibilities:- Safely operate crane equipment to lift, move, load, and place trusses and lumber materials.
- Perform pre-operation inspections and daily safety checks on crane equipment.
- Follow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate clearly with drivers, yard personnel, and jobsite crews using hand signals and radios.
- Secure loads properly to prevent damage during lifting and transport.
- Assist with loading delivery trucks and staging materials in the yard as needed.
- Identify and report equipment issues, maintenance needs, or safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to crane operations, inspections, and jobsite activities.
- Support overall yard and delivery operations as assigned.
Experience:
- Valid crane operator certification.
- CDL preferred or willingness to obtain (depending on equipment requirements)
- Minimum 2+ years of crane operation experience, preferably in lumber, truss, or construction materials.
- Strong understanding of rigging practices, load charts, and safe lifting techniques.
- Ability to read delivery tickets, load plans, and basic jobsite layouts.
- Excellent safety awareness and attention to detail.

- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to climb, bend, lift, and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Lumber yard and active construction job sites.
- Exposure to heavy equipment, moving materials, and outdoor elements.
