Maintenance Technician

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Maintenance Technician 2 for a contract opportunity in Buffalo, NY.

• 2 years of electrical experience plus the ability to perform various carpentry and plumbing tasks.
• Ability to perform work from ladders, scaffolds and powered lift platforms.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Clean, valid NYS driver’s license.
• Ability to change between Amherst building locations based upon need.
• Ability to be subject to both external and internal environmental conditions.
• Ability to be subject to a variety of physical conditions.
• Ability to be subject to a variety of atmospheric conditions.
• Ability to wear safety gear as needed to perform specific functions.
• U.S. citizenship

• The Maintenance professional performs repairs and maintenance on building infrastructure, equipment and machines in our manufacturing and office facilities.
• Primary expertise should be in the electrical trade but he/she may also perform work in one or more of other maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair.
• The Maintenance professional conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
• Uses hand and power tools.
• Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment.
• Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
• Clears walkways of snow and ice and applies treatment to these surfaces.
• The ideal candidate will have experience in all maintenance trades with primary experience in the electrical trade area.
• Electrical experience includes a working understanding of industrial three phase electrical systems; primarily focused on branch circuit distribution installation, modification and repair; in addition to a working knowledge and the physical ability to install three phase branch circuits utilizing, but not limited to, rigid EMT conduit and flexible BX/MC conduit, is preferred.
• Occasional non-standard work hours are required to perform certain tasks

• Ability to assemble and disassemble various types of modular office furniture including partitions and wall sections.
• Ability to utilize shop machine tools.

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

School must be accredited.

Full-Time 9/80B workweek.
