The Country Club of Buffalo is a private club that was established in 1889 with the current 18-hole, Donald Ross design opening in 1926. The club sits on a 260-acre property that also includes: four tennis courts, two platform tennis courts, pickleball courts, outdoor pool facility, and a large sporting clays complex.
The golf course underwent a complete restoration in 2012 and recently completed a new irrigation system installation.
The golf course is currently ranked in the Golfweek top 100 classic list. The club is scheduled to host the US Women's Mid-Am Championship in 2027 and the US Senior Amateur Championship in 2032.
The lead horticulturist position is a leadership position that involves all aspects of landscape and garden management throughout our 260 acre property. Daily tasks will include; water management, pest identification and management, project design and planning, purchasing, budgeting, managing seasonal plantings, staff training, event preparation, and team leadership. We are looking for a talented and ambitious individual to joinourteam, which currently consists of up to 40 full and part-time staff members.
Overtime and weekends will be required, with management typically working 50-60 hours per week during the growing season.
Must possess or attain a NYS pesticide license within 90 days of employment.
