Position Overview

The Product Engineer is a critical role responsible for driving all engineering functions for the Eclipse Shutter Program product portfolio, including current products, new product development, and continuous performance improvements. This position plays a key role in delivering innovative, best-in‑class products that align with organizational goals and market leadership objectives. By leveraging technical expertise and problem‑solving skills, the Product Engineer ensures the successful execution of projects and product enhancements.

What

you’ll do
  • Lead engineering functions for the Eclipse Shutter Program product portfolio, ensuring a best-in‑class product offering.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify innovative solutions, improve existing products, and develop breakthrough concepts.
  • Perform initial and ongoing design reviews, ensuring accuracy and quality in product and component designs.
  • Develop CAD project drawings and review external team/vendor drawings for precision and compliance.
  • Identify process deficiencies and implement solutions to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Provide technical expertise and training to other departments, including specialized training on new product launches.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Operations) and external suppliers to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Support inter‑company divisions and departmental projects as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Who you are
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in window coverings or consumer durables in home hardware is a plus.
  • Expert‑level proficiency in Solid Works for CAD design and review.
  • Strong project management skills, including prioritization and budget management.
  • Ability to identify innovative solutions and patentable concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and provide training.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn other software programs.
  • Solid math skills, including fractions, for engineering calculations.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (less than 10%) for vendor visits, trade shows, and seminars.
