Who are we looking for?

Our Southeast Environmental Business is looking for an Environmental Engineer to join their team in Atlanta, GA
! In this role, you will be tasked with supporting and managing GHD’s existing environmental projects in Georgia and surrounding states in the southeast. This role will require a strong technical background in environmental assessment, remediation, compliance, and/or due diligence.

You’ll work on a projects with a diverse portfolio of environmental assessment, remediation, and compliance projects. You’ll participate in multidisciplinary teams through the planning, design, and execution of environmental compliance, due diligence, assessment, and remedial programs, while building strong client relationships through clear, proactive communication. With a focus on cost‑effective, innovative solutions, you’ll support GHD clients in addressing environmental liabilities and concerns, turning challenges into opportunities for sustainable outcomes.

You’ll also be hands‑on in the field, planning and implementing work such as sample and data collection, monitoring well installation, groundwater monitoring, and remediation system operation and maintenance, as well as coordinating remedial action activities and overseeing contractors and field staff when required.

Key responsibilities
  • Data Collection and Analysis:
    Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
  • Engineering Drawings:
    Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Engineering Solutions Design:
    Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment:
    Follow the organization's HSE policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well‑being of self and others in the workplace. Identify patterns of risky behavior within the team and take appropriate action to resolve them, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
  • Personal Capability Building:
    Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Technical Troubleshooting:
    Support technical troubleshooting efforts, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments.
  • Project Management:
    Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
  • Client & Customer Management (External):
    Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
What you’ll bring to the team
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering
  • Professional Engineer license preferred
