Responsibilities- Direct and inspect equipment installation, supervise equipment start up.
- Field service calls to diagnose trouble and make repairs such as adjustments, parts replacements, timing and synchronization of mechanisms as may be electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic. Submit reports.
- Accomplish service calls for installation technical assistance, equipment surveys, fryer safety inspections, and to satisfy scheduled Service Agreements.
- Conduct training seminars when requested.
- Check out assembled units using checklist for satisfactory operation prior to shipment from plant. Recommend changes for optimum line performance.
- Product testing of equipment under actual operating conditions and application to the customer's product.
- Make courtesy calls on customers when time allows.
- Assist in checking new operating manuals, along with recommending any required changes.
- Assist parts department in handling telephone communications with customer concerning service orders.
- Communicate with customers concerning problems and advice.
- Work with Sales, Engineering, or Manufacturing regarding field requests.
- Advise of service problems that indicate design or manufacturing deficiencies.
- Make suggestions and recommendations tending to improvements or necessary modifications. INITIATE CAR's as required.
- Notify customers in writing as to safety deficiencies observed on the equipment during a service call.
- Follow up on action required after phone conversation or in plant visit.
- Assist Engineering and Production on content of Stein/DSI/Frigoscandia production equipment checklist. (Develop in-field checklist as required, Maintain checklists)
- Work closely with engineering in the development of new equipment and modifications to existing equipment.
- Promote Service Agreements/parts sales.
- Promote good customer relations.
- A working background in PLC, control circuit wiring, electro‑pneumatic systems, PID controller and computer‑based programs.
- Troubleshooting skills and solid mechanical knowledge, hydraulics and pneumatics.
- High school graduate.
- Minimum of two years in the required field.
- Two years of technical school or equivalent is preferred.
During initial training, guidance will be provided by other trained personnel. As competency increases, supervision will be reduced. The position requires minimal direct supervision, and requires judgment, planning and resourcefulness after training.
Supervisory ResponsibilityMay have occasional indirect reports such as road crew or contractors on site, ranging from one to six people for installation and re‑building of equipment.

Work Environment & Physical DemandsMajority of work will be confined to a factory‑type environment. Some work may be in pre‑construction environments. Working conditions include process plants where cooking and freezing equipment is in use. Travel may be 90%–100% of work time and not restricted to the North America region. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Physical demands include routine heavy lifting and maneuvering around new construction sites and factory sites consisting of multiple stories.
SalaryThe estimated hourly pay range for this role is $25.00–$33.00 an hour. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
