Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assist the Front Office Manager in managing the Front Office Operations to ensure complete customer satisfaction, quality service, and compliance with directives established by management.
  • Monitor and maintain front office systems and equipment.
  • Track guest satisfaction surveys and introduce initiatives geared towards improving team performance.
  • Interview, hire, train, develop, resolve problems, provide open communication, and recommend discipline and/or termination when appropriate of staff members.
  • Develop working relationships with coworkers, associates, and other managers.
  • Knowledge of using “check book system” and creating purchase orders.
  • Ability to anticipate business needs to ensure sufficient coverage at the front desk, PBX, and bell stand.
  • Fully able to support entire team, including checking in/out guests, reservations, PBX, bell/guest/valet services, room blocking for transient and group rooms control knowledge.
  • Knowledge of night auditing, Attendance on Demand, Time Edits, Payroll process, and HR processes are part of the operation.
  • Cash handling, adjustments with backup, transportation weekly report, end of shift reporting. Professional, polite, calm, ability to work in a very high stress and ever-changing environment, ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Attend daily stand-up operations meeting, weekly resume meeting/staff meeting, and ensure proper communication back to team.
  • Develop and lead a culture of anticipating guest needs, outstanding problem resolution, and creating memorable experiences for our guests.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Supervisory Responsibilities

The ability to oversee, mentor, and hold supervisors and hourly staff accountable to expectations.

Education And/or Experience

High School diploma or GED plus two years prior hotel industry experience; preferably within the front office department. Prior supervisor experience preferred.

Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Computer Skills
  • Knowledge of Opera, Amadeus, and Microsoft Office is required.
  • Knowledge of Micros, Spa Soft, and Guestware are preferable.
  • Ability to utilize all applicable applications to improve work processes and guest experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear and listen. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The role of an Assistant Front Office Manager is demanding and requires mental and emotional strength.
