About the Role
The Pre-Sales Engineer serves as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales process. You’ll partner closely with account executives and customers to uncover needs, design solutions, and communicate value in a way that resonates with both technical and executive audiences.
This role is about curiosity, clarity, and confidence, asking the right questions, architecting thoughtful solutions, and translating complex technology into outcomes customers can believe in. You’ll play a direct role in shaping pipeline growth, deal quality, and long‑term customer success.
What You’ll Do
- Lead technical discovery conversations that uncover customer goals, challenges, and constraints
- Ask insightful questions that connect technical requirements to business impact
- Design scalable, integrated solutions across data center, networking, and cybersecurity
- Translate complex architectures into clear, compelling business value
- Engage confidently with CIOs, CTOs, IT Directors, and other decision makers
- Build accurate bills of materials that align with customer needs, budgets, and timelines
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and service delivery teams to ensure seamless handoffs
- Develop customer‑facing materials including solution diagrams, presentations, and ROI narratives
- Partner with vendor manufacturers to stay aligned on product roadmaps, pricing, and best practices
- Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitive solutions
- Pursue ongoing training and certifications to continuously sharpen your technical expertise
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent hands‑on experience
- At least 3 years of experience in pre‑sales engineering, solutions architecture, or technical consulting
- Strong foundation in data center, networking, or cybersecurity technologies
- Ability to build solution designs and BOMs with accuracy and attention to detail
- Comfort explaining technical concepts in clear, business‑friendly language
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Natural curiosity, strong problem‑solving instincts, and a growth mindset
- Preferred certifications include CCNA, CCNP, Security+, CISSP, or vendor‑specific credentials (Dell, Rubrik, Juniper, Aruba, and similar)
