As a Meat Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will be working in one of the most popular departments in our store. Your responsibilities include providing a high level of customer service, practicing safe food handling procedures, and demonstrating extensive product knowledge and preparation techniques.

You will receive, store, and grind meats; unload and transport fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from the delivery truck; count and weigh incoming articles and compare results against an invoice; examine meats in storage; and rotate meats to avoid aging. You will provide prompt, friendly customer service, assist customers with questions, special orders, and needs, and maintain a positive, customer‑focused environment.

You will be knowledgeable about weekly ad items, direct customers to product locations throughout the store, and perform and follow our “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” programs.

• Be at least 18 years of age and have a high‑school diploma or equivalent.
• Have a basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
• Be dependable, reliable, and willing to perform other related duties as assigned.
• Have an outgoing, friendly attitude and the ability to interact positively with customers.
• Be able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have strong communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department: clean and sanitize work areas (tables, floors, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.).
• Adhere to all safety, health, weights, and measures regulations and company recipes.
• Be capable of standing continuously for up to 4 hours and walking up to 2 miles in an 8‑hour shift.
• Work inside a temperature‑controlled area and maintain general housekeeping standards.
• Possess good vision for using sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.
• Be able to lift or carry horizontally or vertically between 25 and 90 lbs. (4”–60” height, up to 10 feet, for 20 hours).
• Use a pallet jack to move pallets horizontally up to 500 lbs., requiring up to 85 lbs. force, up to 100 feet, for up to 5 hours.
• Move product racks weighing up to 70 lbs. with up to 25 lbs. force, up to 50 feet, for up to 10 hours.
• Move tables weighing up to 70 lbs. with more than 35 lbs. force, up to 2 feet, for up to 1 hour.
