Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Buford, Georgia.

- Hourly Pay: $30.50 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification, up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
- Sign‑On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Monday - Friday, Weekends OFF - Hours:
Second Shift – Monday 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm;
Tuesday - Friday 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm - Annual Merit Pay Increases each year

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or Technical Certification;
Post‑Secondary degree or Technical Certifications (preferred) - Basic tools are required
- Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
- Routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems (required)
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience (preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- All other certifications required by location (required)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment
- Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- This position requires you to drive Ryder vehicles. Requirements:
- Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass Ryder Drug Test
- Pass DOT physical
- Pass Ryder road test
- Pass Ryder Background and Motor Vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
Responsibilities- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including:
- Standard vehicle maintenance
- Preventive maintenance
- Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable
- Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Work unsupervised on most tasks
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Act as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Demonstrate ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents
- Other support duties as required to support operations, including Service Island support
- SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT
220) - Complete 2 of the OEM On‑Line diagnostic scan tool software courses within 365 days, per location fleet mix
