Position:
Relief Long‑Haul Driver (Non‑Exempt).
Classification:
Non‑Exempt.
Reports to:
Distribution Director.
Summary:
Act as a relief long‑haul driver when needed. If not assigned as a long‑haul driver, perform various duties including local driving, maintaining/cleaning equipment, and shuttling equipment. Work as a team member to assure all assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Replace full‑time drivers during planned and unplanned time off.
- Shuttle equipment to and from the plant to various locations including maintenance/repair agencies in the Magic Valley.
- Shuttle and transport frozen products to and from our cold storage facility in Twin Falls (Henningsen’s).
- Perform general warehouse duties; for example, spiral loading, truck loading, staging of product and housekeeping.
- Follow the loading procedure according to load sheets supplied by the Distribution Department.
- Work independently with minimal supervision as needed.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Fill out and report all incidents according to the procedures listed in the Emergency Action Plan.
- Use “Whip Around” app according to prescribed tasks and procedures including pre and post trip cards, report maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor.
- Drive in a safe manner following all traffic laws and all DOT rules as prescribed by the class of the vehicle.
- Be twenty‑one (21) years or older.
- Possess a Commercial Driver’s License (Class
A). - Pass a D.O.T. Physical and drug screen exam.
- Pass a D.O.T. road test.
- Have proven background in the operation of a class 8 vehicle.
- Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 110‑degree °F to –20‑degree °F.
- Ability to work well with others and show a positive attitude.
- Record‑keeping ability and ability to read and write in English.
- Must adhere to all Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety standards.
- Must adhere to all Riverence Provisions LLC safety standards.
- Work well as a team member.
- Maintain good attendance.
- Work flexible schedules with varying hours as required.
- Accept assignments of co‑drivers of diverse backgrounds according to established job bid/assignment procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English and Spanish.
