• Tue 08:00 – 15:00

• Thu 09:30 – 14:30

• Sat 09:00 – 15:00

Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

It is our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you would like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.

We are happy to support flexibility for our colleagues. If the times you are available to work match closely but not exactly to the times we are advertising, we’d still love to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Help to serve shoppers better every day.
  • Meet great people, learn new things, and be part of a specialist, diverse team where everyone is welcome.
  • Work in a committed role full of everyday challenges.
  • Deliver excellent customer service with pride and passion.
  • Assist with product knowledge and training and apply it to safe, effective customer service.
  • Manage customer complaints and feedback in a professional manner, ensuring customers leave happy.
  • Record customer details confidentially.
  • Carry out safe & legal checks at the desk and report next steps to the Shift Leader or Team Manager.
  • Control keys stored at the desk correctly.
  • Record and dispose of waste responsibly, following food waste and recycling routines.
  • Record and process returned items from customers.
  • Sign in visitors, ensuring they are aware of health, safety and fire procedures.
  • Liaise with Shift Leaders, Managers and Security, communicating clearly.
  • Participate in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
  • Work across the store in our service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
  • Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure customers receive items in the best condition.
  • Live our values, make everyone feel welcome and follow our policies.
Qualifications
  • Over 18 years of age.
  • Passion for delivering great service, greeting customers with a smile and serving them with pride.
  • Ability to build rapport with customers, leaving them with a great shopping experience.
  • Take initiative and make decisions that are right for customers.
  • Work well within a team and communicate openly with others.
  • Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit, have fun and celebrate success.
  • Be punctual, well presented and ready to be a brand ambassador.
  • For roles that require working before 6:15 am or after 9:45 pm, or involve working in areas such as the warehouse, beers, wines & spirits, counters, bakery and driving roles, must be over 18.
