VP of FInance

Our client, a growing startup looking for a Controller / VP of Finance to own the full financial function end-to-end. This is a build-it-and-run-it role ideal for someone who enjoys being both strategic and deeply hands‑on.

You’ll be the senior finance leader, but you won’t be inheriting a large team or polished systems. Instead, you’ll roll up your sleeves, establish strong financial fundamentals, and help guide the company through its next stage of growth.

• Own day-to-day accounting operations (GL, AP/AR, payroll, month-end close)

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

• Build and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models

• Partner with leadership on financial planning, pricing, and strategic decisions

• Establish and improve financial processes, controls, and reporting

• Manage audits, tax filings, and external partners (CPA, payroll, etc.)

• Scale the finance function over time as the company grows

• Experience as a Controller, Head of Finance, or VP of Finance in a startup or small company

• Comfortable being hands-on—from journal entries to board-level reporting

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial operations

• Proven ability to build forecasts and translate numbers into insights

• Startup mindset: adaptable, pragmatic, and ownership-driven

• CPA or similar credential is a plus, but not required

• High visibility and direct impact on the business
